KENYA: Biblical Hebrew at PAC University

2025-12-17

Registration for Biblical Hebrew at PAC University in Nairobi is now open. Students will learn to read Biblical Hebrew and start on Beginners’ grammar and vocabulary.

Registration information

Global Biblical Hebrew will be introduced during the first three months of 2026 at Pan Africa Christian University. This is our first major scale-up after Ethiopia.

I am very excited about the new plans for 2026. I shortly visited Kenya more than a decade ago en route to Madagascar. It is an encouragement to see my dream for Biblical Hebrew finally be realized.

I very much appreciate my collaboration with Hebrew scholar and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Diphus Chemorion. He is also an expert in Bible translation. In fact he was one of the assistents of my friend Iver Larsen, Senior Consultant and board member in Wycliffe Denmark, when he translated the Bible into Sabaoth.

PAC University is organizing this course with subsidized rates for delegates participating in the course and living outside Nairobi. Such local support and ownership is very promising.

The focus of our pilot project is to train-the-trainers. I personally also look forward to learn from my colleagues how we can improve Bible translation studies through the use of the BibleOL.
